Musician, music publisher
I am the nyckelharpa player in Harta and a Scottish music publisher with the business Scotlands Music and a teacher of instruments. Having studied violin at the RSAMD (now RCS) I now live on the Isle of Skye. Having previously played fiddle in several bands over the years playing with others has always been an important part of my music making. On meeting Jack and Ross at the local folk Breakish Folk Club in 2016 a new band, Harta, was formed to play music in which we all had an interest. We play interesting old and contemporary Scottish and Swedish music and enjoy making the arrangements when we meet weekly.
Taigh na Teud (www.scotlandsmusic.com) our publishing company was set up in 1985 by Christine and Alasdair Martin. Our award winning collections include the Highland Tunes for the Fiddle series, Sessions Tunes for Scottish Fiddlers and the well known Ceilidh Collections as well as many other books for Scots and Gaelic song, guitar, accordion, mandolin and harp. We also produce the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland's traditional music exam books for fiddle, accordion and harp.
